Many foreign visitors to Prague think that soft drugs, and especially Marijuana, are legal in the Czech Republic. Take note, this is not the case! There have been several reports in the foreign media that Prague is becoming the new Amsterdam, at least where soft drugs are concerned. However, the reality is not what it might seem. It’s not true that on every street corner in Prague you are offered all types of drugs.  If you want to enjoy anything other than alcoholic intoxication, you had best know where to go. Even then it’s not certain if you will obtain (for example) a Marijuana packet. Dealers are usually careful, because the Police naturally know about notorious places. Despite the considerable tolerance of Czech society, being in possession of drugs is a crime which the Police do not like to witness.
 

Drugs in Prague – where to buy them?

If you are attracted to try what Prague has to offer, despite the potential risks, set out to some of the nightclubs in the Centre of Prague. It is said that you can reliably get Marijuana, for example, in Chapeau Rouge – a club which a lot of Africans frequent, who usually have something to sell. You can succeed in the same manner at Roxy, which is currently closed and awaiting re-opening shortly. You have the opportunity of buying something as well in Karlovy lázně, Shadow Bar and Cross Club in Holesovice.

However always pay careful attention to what you are buying. Gullible people could easily be duped into buying something that contains no drug at all. It is true that it’s always safer to buy in a club than on the street, where dealers more likely operate – and are cheaters. The price for a gram of Marijuana is about 300CZK. However the price depends on the dealer and also on your ability to bargain. It is also possible to legally buy the necessities for the cultivation and smoking of Marijuana. – see Infobox. That is to say, growing 5 plants of Marijuana for personal use is permitted in the Czech Republic.
